Default Having Trouble staying running

Okay so its a 97 Disco

problem: getting ready to go out someplace, kids loaded in the Disco and bam she doesnt like idling. She is stummbling, but stays running.

I have a extra set of plug wires in my barn. So I take the disco up there and she hardly stays running on the way up. Give it alot of gas and still hardly moving, but makes it there. Shut her down change the wires and start her up. A little better at first, but still stummbling. So I look around the engine trying to see if I can find something. I notice the house that goes from the valve cover (where the pvc is) to the ram housing is getting sucked to the point where it is flat. Shut her down again and the hose returns to normal looking roundness. Go to start it again and she will not stay running. I give it gas as I start her and stays running until I take my foot of the gas. So I try again and give it gas to keep it running for a min or two and let off then it finally stayed running. go to close the hood and the hose mentioned earlier is flat looking again while running. I get in and take it out of the barn and it runs okay, not perfect, but okay and semi-close to normal.

That is where I stand right now. Oh yeah the CE light is on, and did start to flash on and off for a few seconds, but is on steady right now. Dont have a tester so dont know the codes, plan on getting them read, but have to be able to drive it the 1/2 hour to the nearest parts store that will check it for me.

I am thinking replaceing the pcv stuff (2 hoses and separator) and I am thinking the stepper motor is on its way out Anybody have any clues?

Thanks, I'll give it a try before spending the money on the stepper motor

I agree. The hose is probably collapsing due to a combination of old age and heat.

Before you buy a new stepper, clean it with carb spray as well as the inside of the throttle body. You might also replace the fuel filter in case it is plugged up.
