Muddy Oval-"Brakes are a PITA on a DI to change,"

You're not talking about changing the pads only are you? That must include the rotors.

Cobwebs inside! With dirt in them! Makes me wonder what else has been ignored. I'll bet there are fifty little things that "need" repair. GET IT CHECKED!

As far as insurance goes, it's gonna cost ya I'm 38 and I pay more for a 95 Disco than my 04 sport bike. Clean record BTW.

one important thing everyone seemed for have forgotten. it will leak oil, don't worry about it. check oil regularly. after awhile you'll know approx how often you should check but for the first few months check regularly. if it doesn't leak oil, then be worried
as for tire size
if stock tires i *think* they are 235/70-16 if not, someone will correct me

enjoy your rig

I'd say those are 245/75's...I think stock are like 245/70's. These look just a wee bit taller.

Hi everyone, thanks for all the help so far.

Just out of curiosity, is it possible to make an iPod/aux hookup using the CD player wires located underneath the seat.

Pads alone are cake to install- changing the rotors completely sucks. I didn't see an insurance issue on my 95. My wife was listed as the primary driver, full coverage with high limits and low deductibles and considering my wife plays bumper cars on a regular basis. It was cheap. I think some insurance companies are kinda harsh on Land Rovers.

Well, I am a teenage boy driver that will have taken drivers ed and I am an honor role student. I think no matter what it will be expensive for me. I doubt my rover will have collision on it in that its a 1996.

mine doesn't have a cd changer but last time i looked under the driver seat, i beleive that wires were all there and just had to hook it up. least i *think* it was the cd changer wires. i just remember see a bunch of wires and thought it was either for the power seats (which i don't have) or the cd changer...

Just in case, check under the passenger's seat. U might find a holder with cartridge sitting right there. It happened with mine

Well from what I have read it seems like all disco's have the wiring under the seat for the CD player. This is done so dealers could easily install CD players.

I am going to finally go check out the rover with my parents this friday, saturday, or sunday. I will check under the seat- who knows, there could be a CD player there, she might just not know that it is there. Knowing this lady I might not be surprised

This is my basic idea- I will install a CD player (or not if it has one). Then I will figure out which two wires carry the audio. I will then cut them and put in a switch. If the switch is in one position it will play the music from the CD player. If it is in the other, it will take the audio from a wire connected to my ipod. Having the other wires that get data on the track # and such it will make it think that the CD player is installed. From what i have read, if there is no CD player to send data to head unit, then it will think there is no CD player installed and will not let you switch to that mode.

I am counting down the days
