Help Please! 95 disco making scraping noise

Hello everyone, I'm a fairly new newbie and need some advice on my 95 disco.
I'm getting a weird scraping type noise when I drive vehicle. I can slip the trans. into neutral and the noise goes away. When I put it back into drive it starts again.

It also feels like something is binding and trying to hold the vehicle back.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Usually, a scraping noise indicates brakes (pads worn down with metal to metal contact). Are you holding your foot on the brake when you start off? Does the sound not appear with your foot off the brake?

Sorry, sounds too simple, but that's all I could think of...
