the only way you bend the valves on those are scewing up the timing when you take the heads off.

What did you do at all.

And when you bend them you kill the engine.

That sucks!

But, while he has the thing tore down, get a new 3-angle valve job, flat mill if needed, and a port and pollish. The P&P will give you 35HP+ alone!

Also, contact D&D Automotive and get a double roller timing chain kit.

If you really wanted to "get-er'-done", add a new cam, too. D&D has all sizes. When I did my motor, the chain, cam and lifters was 450.00 shipped. HUGE difference! That cam and a P&P, and your going to have a badass motor that's still awesome for daily driving.

im thinking maybe i should just go all out and have him replace everything...ill be in debt for a while...but got to do what i got to do

another question !!

the engine has just a little over 170,000 is it time for a new engine? whats the life expectancy with these rovers ? i know if you maintain them well they can last forever... this truck was serviced reg. and stamped in the book up to 90,000 which im guessing was sold to the 2nd owner which then went from 90,000 to 160,000 and then to me, so i dont know what the guy did between then
