1994 Disco 1 170,000
1st owner followed the book with services all the way to 90,000
2nd no records of anything 160,000
3rd new paint, tires, roof rack, brush guard
4th Me Timing Gear was wore down and the chain broke...causing to bend the valves and i need some rebuilding of this and tht... so other things here and there replaced the wheel bearings, new springs and shocks.... i never soldered my window ecu....umm replaced the radiator and belts... other than that it runs good now i love my rover! sometimes it can be a pain

But i would definatly check out your timing chain if it hasnt been changed and ur gear...

180k +. Other than the previous owner totally mucking up some re-assembly after a "rebuild" and not adding fluid to the t-case, I've had no big issues. Of course I've only put about 5k on it myself. Knock on wood.

98 Land Rover Disco... with 168K miles.

Totals repairs:

Steering Gear box (DIY)
Idle air control valve.... made no difference with idle issue DIY
Throttle sensor.... made no difference with idle issue DIY

Outside of usual maintenance that is all. DIY

My vehicle has not been touched by a paid mechanic since Rover did the last scheduled service back around 30K miles.

Damn I am starting to appreciate this vehicle.

1994 Disco I, auto, 387,000 miles, with me as the original owner. It's my DD, almost exclusively highway miles. Original motor, running Mobil 1, changed every 3 to 4000 miles with a dab of Z-max added. Going through engine compartment now and replacing all the rubber, while I save up money for some new front seats.
