can anybody tell me a step by step procedure to replace a water pump on a 98 land rover discovery LE

well, here's a quick synopsis:

-buy new water pump/gasket...might as well get a new belt while you're here
-take fan shroud off
-remove belt
-remove f*cking SOB fan
-drain radiator
-unscrew bolts surrounding water pump
-scrape all of the old gasket off
-put new gasket on (use "make-a-gasket" as well)
-screw bolts back in (using the "opposite" method...like you would w/ tire nuts)
-put f*cking SOB fan back on
-put new belt back on
-fill radiator

If this sounds really simple, it is. It's a relatively easy job...you don't need to buy the workshop manual. I actually have it and didn't need it at all
