Quite a few kits, I'll list the ones I've used and my opinion:

1. Big Blue (by Bearmach - sold by DAP-Inc in the US). I had two sets, one set was a 2" lift and the other was a 3" lift (both on my 88 RR). I used them with Bilstein shocks. The combination was perfecr because the springs were soft but the shocks were hard. They flexed well but the only problem is that they started to sag after a few years. Most of the products I've seen from Bearmach are inexpensive but you get what you pay for.

2. OME MD - I had them on my wife's 96 D1 and she didn't like them. The ride was too hard and the truck would bounce on curves. She begged me to remove them so I replaced them with a 3" AG lift (that's our brand coils that we are testing). It's been a year now and the springs have held up fine, no sagging. We use my wife's Disco for "long travel" with lots of cargo. Last year we went on a camping trip to the Cape (6 hours from me) with 7 people in the Disco and seven bikes plus all our camping gear and the spring shelp up pretty good. One more thing about the OMEs, you won't get a 3" lift from them, max is 2.5.....

3. Scorpion Racing - I have the 2.5 on my 95 D1 and they aren't as hard as the OME and have a lifetime warranty. Yep, lifetime, only springs I know of that have a lifetime warranty. And they come in a trillion different sizes and load ratings. For example, the Front RR springs come in 12 different configurations from standard height to 3" with different load levels (25% up to 85%). And they make them for many different vehicles (LR, Suzuki, Jeep, MB, etc). They come matched.

4. RTE - I've heard they had problems with the older springs (sagging and breaking) but they've corrected the problem. I have a set of 3" Front springs which I never installed sitting in my shed. They have springs up to 5" of lift.

5. Northwestparts - haven't heard much about their springs but I've spoken to them a few times and they seem like nice people.

Ok, that's just my opinion, I'm sure others will chime in with their opinions and hopefully you'll be able to decide what's best for you.

Good luck.

That pretty much covers it. Which direction you go naturally depends on the specific application, your % of on-road vs. on-road, type of terrain, budget, etc.

John,
I would like some 411 too. I have a 2 inch OME HD lift on my 96 D1. Love it but then I like the truck feel (stiff) ride. But I am interested in the AG stuff.
Thanks
Steven

here are some factors,

1. i drive my rover every day
2. i like the ride it has now
3. i want a couple inches of lift
4. i dont want to spend a ton
5. i tow a little bit
6. i off road maybe a few times a month, nothing SUPER serious, just playing around.

right now i have a stock spring that is going dead on the right rear and my truck is about an inch lower on that side...so im thinking why not lift it if i can do it for cheap...

On Discoweb there has been quite a few topics related to the CB lift (Cheap Bastard) Where you purchase replacement OME HD (part # 762 for the D1)coils for the rear and you replace your front springs with your original rear coils. This will give you roughly 2" of lift without the need for further modification. The OME coils will cost you roughly $129, then you have the labor piece unless you do it yourself. Pretty inexpensive lift considering. Do a search over there if you get a chance.

I have our AG 3" springs on my 98DI. I will post some pics tomorrow. I am currently running 255/85's (33") on the stock steelies with 2" lower Scorpion rear shock mounts and +2" Koni Adjustable HeavyTrack shocks and sway bars still attached. I also tow a small M1 military trailer when going to events as well as carrying around 400lb in the Disco. When it's empty it rides nice (mostly because of the HT shocks). I had rancho 9000's on it for a while and they were to mushy and the truck swayed a lot. I'll also take pics of where the tires contact the rear panels. The rubbing happened more often when I ran 235's on GCR rims. I had to adjust the steering stops a lot with the 255's.
