I need new transmission fluid, filter, gasket. I was told that the newer models have a metal filter which just requires a tranny flush to clean out all the bad, plus the magnet at bottom of pan will get the metal particles. This is about a $100.
There is a cross-member that will have to be taken down in order to remove the pan and physically change the filter and gasket which ive been told runs around $175 + parts. Should I just get the tranny flushed or pay the extra dough and have filter/gasket manually changed. If the cross-member is not hard to remove or isn't spring loaded then I can do this myself.
I need some feedback as to what I should do.

NO, not yet. How many miles on your truck, what about the other services? How mechanical are you?
