El Capitan, with its newly aquired accs.

I put it on last night, while it was drizzling a bit, so I had to rush, and in doing so, the RH side dropped a bit so it has a bit of an angle but I'll be fixing that today, as well as getting longer Bolts and some new pressure washers.

Last night ( Friday ) I removed the Brush-Bar. Took off the spoiler, removed the fog lights and the end caps.

John, that my handy dandy dremel tool worked amazingly with a mega heavy duty disc, the ones that look like it has wires running through it. I took some masking tape and layed it on the area where most people cut and had a CLEAN cut. Then took a filer to smooth out the edge. Put them back on and MY GOD!! What a difference. Right off the bat, I decided that something I'd have to buy real soon are skid plates, being that those steering components are totally OUT there. Atleast my brakes get some more air now.

I went ahead and Rhino-lined my brushbar, only it wasn't the brand "Rhino Liner". I bought two cans of Spray On Truck Bed Liner at Advanced Auto Parts for $8.00/can. NAPA wanted 23 dollars for a spray can of Herculiner. I dont have the can here with me and dont remember the brand but I believe it'll work just as good as the brand name stuff. I hung the bar up on one of the branches of a tree and sprayed away. That stuff dries up in 10 minutes but isn't at optimal for another couple hours. I'll be putting it on tomorrow in the afternoon so I'll have pics of my front end later in the evening.

Default the finished product...

HF, here ya go

(we're redoin the front yeard/driveway section of the house incase you're wondering about the stump...haha)

Also, my sister rear-ended another poor soul's car and that's why the bumper looks droopy. Accident happened at like 10 mph...the other car's trunk was wrecked!!! I think it was the latest model Taurus. Poor Guy.

The brand for the liner was Plasti-Kote....results...IT SUCKS!, it already chipped in certain areas. DON'T BUY IT!!!...Once again, I get kicked in the ass for being cheap..lol..damnit!

Binary it looks sweet my friend. Sorry that the paint on liner didn't work out so well. I finally have a mod, coming up, as soon as I can get some time to do the install....

well it is the first so it is small, I am going to be installing a 1" spacer kit. So I will gain another inch of ground clearance. I am going to take pictures of the process and do a step by step as well. I am pretty stoked about it.

Man, if you can do it more power to ya...I tried doin the same for my simple Damper Replacement but my hands were always dirty, even if I wore my gloves ( it didnt help that the insides of those are dirty too..lol ).

I was thinkin of wrapping my digi cam into a ziploc bag and cutting out a piece for the lense for the next project. It's either that or run inside the house, wash my hands, and take the pic ( I'd have to do that several times )

Awsome man, so 1"..sweet. I've finally decided to go for a 2" OME Lift. I dont crawl (dont do it at all actually) as much as I do muddin but w/e I can do to keep the mud level on the outside of the car as low as possible will do.

RIght now I need to focus on my brakes. I had warped the rotors at the beginning of this year, which is what led me to discover this Forum so I'm greatful that such a thing happened. I had the rotors cut but I looks like the left from rotor is a little thicker then the right front, so whenever I brake, El Capitan pulls to the left. I'll be replacing for DBA Rotors (cross-drilled but not vented) with the Genuine LR Pads and will be purchased from Expedition Exchange

My question to the board is, Has anyone done an ECU relocation on a D1???

ECU??? it may be a dumb question but i have to ask....

Well I have put some thought into how to keep the camera clean, my solution have a "camera man" there with me. HAHA... I am probably going to have to wait until after the 4th to do the install, but I am looking forward to getting it on there and seeing the difference. I saw you said that people have a hard time getting in and out, well my wife has a hard time at standard height, I can't wait to see it after a little lift.

Hi, lads

re K&N filters.
I keep hearing stories that when you put these on, they affect your mixture/os levels, etc and that if you have carbs, you need different jets putting in (assume it makes a difference if you have an ECU box as well ??)
I have an 84 range rover with SU carbs and an 87 with ECU.
DOES it make a difference ? DO you need to treat carbs/ecu differently ?
(There is a guy on ebay selling look alike K&Ns for 1/3 of the K&N price) - £18 GBP + postage). Advice appreciated. Incidently, I am sure the reason we all have/want K&Ns is the lovely 'sucky' sound. Cant really believe there is any increase in fuel efficency... is there ?
