Yes there is! I swear to you and all others. a K&N and a bottle of RedLine Fuel System Cleaner and I got close to 400 miles on a full tank on my last trip.

You really dont want that K&N from the picture there, as that one isn't in an airbox and gets dirter quicker, and KNs are known for letting the real tiny stuff through if they arent oiled properly.

Pretty much As long as you're not drivin your rover like a sports car you will, because the KN also provides Low End power, and you'll feel that when passing on the highway or acc. on the entry ramps or anything that requires the pedal to be pushed.

Redline, I got mine at Advanced Auto Parts...$8 for the bottle. It cleans, tank, lines, and injectors, allowing the fuel system to work at Optimal. With the tank full, pour 1 bottle for every 4 times you fill it up( <continously, if you're not planning on doing that, then 1 bottle on a full tank will work for some time)

Sorry, Redline wasnt $8, it was 4.98 or something like that...

Ok so here are some of the mods that will be happening

For July:

-New CV Kit from AB (they're on sale for $200)

-Front DBA Rotors with Gen. LR Pads

-RTE Braided Brakelines

-switching to Magnecor 8mm wires*

For August:

-Scorpion Racing 2" Lift Kit from our trusted John C.

-Rear DBA Rotors with LR Pads.

-Rear propshaft U-joint conversion

*The wires would be going on during my oil change. I'll be using P4s with the new wires. I'll be switchin to Mobil1 oil and staying loyal to K&N with the oil Filter.

Wow...funny to go back and read about my previous mods.

Right now, the truck's going through some major repairs.
Getting a new DAP S/S Y-Pipe, 4 O2 Sensors and S/S pipes to the back... finally getting the electric fan...a new windshield after a stinkin peppble from a dump truck put crack in mine right in my line of vision...gettin new weather strippin and having the truck repainted.

And later, right before Dec., having the 2" OME kit go on the truck (got it through work for SICK pricing..=)

New to the list...having my saggy headliner replaced with black cloth...should look interesting with the tan accents. I'll post a pic as soon as it's done.

Latest accessories added...
  • Chris Hyde's 2 year old Black Out (which I managed to mess up, though its barely noticable)
  • embossed hood lettering,
  • and my home-made light bar sporting Hella Hydrolux lamps.

and yes, I do need to clean my truck.

I thought that a K&N filter increases performance not fuel economy.

Well it depends how you look at it. Simply put less restriction equals more air, more air requires more fuel so less MPG.

However because of increased performance and more efficent burn (if it has leaned out the a/f) you might not need to drive as hard for the same on road performance which could equal better MPG.

The only thing the K&N filter increases on a Disco is repair bill (MAF)
