It also increases the amount of dirt consumed by the engine... OR oil. You get your choice. MAF or dirt. Of course, they filter well once they're pretty dirty, but then they don't flow any better. All I know is the paper filters never killed a MAF and the engine can redline with it- so it must flow enough.

I've actually decided to order 2 paper filters and keep the KN as a back up. Back when I posted my initial results, my o2 sensors weren't crispy so a nice air/fuel mixture would be used. Now I'm running rich. And HAVE noticed the dust build up in the hose aft of the airbox and in the plenum...EVEN with a snorkel.

On another note, I've ordered an Equipe 4x4 V-shaped Skid plate from our fellow fivespddisco.

I've got my oil change commin up so I went shoppin for it today. This will be my first time using Mobil1 oil - Clean5000 10W-40. Also did some research on engine cleansing/cleaning and have decided to go the ATF route. I've also decided to use the elongated K&N Oil Filter P/N: 3001. I'll post the results of the cleaning as soon as im through.

I also got a short rubber stereo antenna to cope with off-road abuse.

My antenna was recently riped off (good ridance, as it was working poorly) - any details on your rubber antenna? How does it work for you?

Well, my stock antenna also sucked. I'm installing mine sometime this week as I dont think I'll be able to do it today after my oil change. I'll report back.

WOW!!! The ATF did its job! I let her sit for 30 minutes with the ATF. It went in red and came out pitch black!

CAUTION:
ATF is a much thinner fluid than engine oil, so it WILL flow A LOT faster than oil! My advice is to lay a tarp underneath the ENTIRE front of the truck AND use something with a large opening like a bucket to catch the oil once the plug is removed becuase IT WILL burst out of there. This will require that you have enough space underneath so performing this task on ramps is recommended. Obviously, let it cool down after your 30 min idle run.

So the next thing I want to do is Lift. I've got an OME suspension sittin in my closet but I think I want to get some RTE Springs. During that install I'll FINALLY bleed the brakes, put the RTE lines I've had for half a year, and put some new fluid in.

Next interesting thing I want to work on is decreasing the temp under the hood. I've been looking into Exhaust tube wraps and thermal boots for the spark plug wires.

Obviously I'll have to cut these to length.

Also, I have a VERY leaky Oil Pressure switch, so I think I'm just going to take that off and use that location to install a mechanical Oil Pressure gauge.

Finally, anyone ever heard of GM Alum. radiators in Rovers? They have the same config and JEGS sells many different sizes.

I use a Yellow top as my only battery for both starting and running my Winch. My Battery is almost three years old and I have had no issues in either Summer or Winter here in Ontario.
cheers

Skid plate looks great.

My antenna was broken, so I installed a rubber antenna. It bends so much when driving. Drove me crazy, I changed the mast out today to a metal one, now better reception too.

I like those headers, but where can I find that exhaust tape? Local parts store or what?

That was just a sample photo from Jegs. Jegs is the way to go. Cheaper than Summit on most things and FAST processing times!
