my disco wont start

i had this start two days ago, turned it off, wont start up again with out reving it up high for a minute, then no problem. today i go to start it up und it wont start. trys to turn over and keep going, but dosnt. there is gas in it. fuel cap is on tight. fuel in the injector rail. spark plugs semi-new, air filter two months old. any ideas? its a 96 4.0

i just went and checked it again.... no pressure in the rail .....f*&*%$#%ck.

i changed the fuel pump and now,.... it dosnt idle.300/400rpms. it dosent go...up hill without almost dying,it feels like its not firing properly? when i put the new pump in, the new knock of replacment didnt fit tight as the old one (the feed tube out of the pump). any ideas?
