Default Name that hose, please

I have a 96 Discovery and have tracked a fluid leak to the hose (part flexible-part tube)that runs from the lower part of the radiator on the drivers side, past the steering box and along side the oil pan. It has a sensor just outside the radiator.

I can find it in a picture in in my workshop manual but can't see what is called or find find it on any of the parts sites.

Someone help me on this? Thanks.

Sounds like the transmission cooler line to me, what is the fluid that is leaking? that will give you a clue.

I crawled under this morning and it does go to the transmission. It's oil rather than transmission fluid.

I think I can determine is now to get a new one.

Thanks for the help

X2 on the trans cooler line, although it is supposed to be auto trans fluid.

It does seem to be oil rather than transmission fluid that is in the vacinity of this hose/pipe. It's also not steering fluid since these hoses are right there too. Anything else close to there?

Thanks

On a 96 D1 steering fluid is also going to be auto trans fluid, so might be oil leaking down on the cooler pipe from something above. How bad is the leak?

It coats-sprays all around the steering box drop arm and also on the top and bottom of the frame in that area. It could be steering fluid but is't very red is at all.

Think I'll get some degeaser and clean everything there and start over in determing what's what.

Thanks

My money would be on the power steering lines, but your correct in cleaning everything up first and finding out exactly where the problem is. Post up what you find out.
