Red face need help Horn problem

ok So on my disco the horn do not work .
i checked the fuse it is ok
i checked the horn it is ok
i put a jumper on the horn relay and it works tested and changed the relay ,the relay is functional but the power that comes from the steering do not exist so i want to remove the air bag but i am afraid to do so ,i was looking in the rave cd and did not find anything on the air bag removal .
what do i do ?do i start on disconnecting the battery and wait a few minutes so everything resets and i do not have a boom in my face

please help
