Default No Power

Since I don't drive it much(especially under stress situations)(mostly around town)I have recently noticed when I gas(peddle to metal) that there is a dead area or delay before there is power or acceleration. For most (normal) situations it runs smooth, shifts fine but I am worried that when off road and I need to get it on it will have this power stumble.Probably due for tune up.Any other ideas or suggestions?
