Mine did it once in my old RRC, when I accidentally gave my RTE sliders a great big bonk!

If you take the panel off under the pass side dash there is a green box with a bunch of wires coming out of it. The bracket that hold the box isn't very stable and in most disco's it bounces on bumpy/washboard roads and trips the sensor in the green box.
Take a couple Zip Ties and attach it to something solid under the dash and your problem should be solved. Heres some pics..
