In January I replaced my 10-year-old OEM coil with one from MSD (#8222 - high vibration, "off road"). I didn't have the discipline to hold off on some other mods (magnacor wires) and a tune up, and I suspect that one of my injectors is on the fritz, so I can't really say that there's a significant performance gain from just the coil. I have been able to add about 50 mi to a full tank's endurance (city driving). Of all the mods I have seen, the MSD coil isn't exactly one of the most expensive. Go for it! Good luck!

We have just returned from a great 4x4 wkend and she ran like a dream for the first time in mths, we had the radiator sorted, picked her up on the Wed and left on the Thur for a town down south called Balingup. We had no overheating problems, we even got to run the aircon for a day. We have just fitted the MSD coil and will test that out in a few wkends time. Will let you all know how she goes, we really do expect a big difference. I will get my notes together and post up soon a list of the mods and expenses we have done to our Landie. Kelly |
