Well a independant LR mech said that it should probably be rebuilt - tht was like 1yr ago? all i have been doing is changing the oil like every two months - it shifts hard when u put it in reverse and kicks when it shifts while driving

I am confused, are you buying or selling it?
For the age, mileage and most likely a tranny replacement I would say $2000. Let's see what others say.

idk mine had 200,000 miles over all condition is god not the best but good i would sell mine The price of the lift (2in OME $250) and tires (going to get BFGs) So i would look at all the Mods done to it add up the price and then start from there.

Problem is that most mods. only at 10% or 20% of there cost to the valve of the vehicle, good tires and a decent suspension are considered to be normal and really don't have any bearing on the selling price. A winch, roof rack or something not considered standard will add some valve.

I have to agree with Disco Mike here. Used Mods are not worth nearly what they are new.

I'm not saying what the truck is worth but just to put things into perspective. I bought my Disco 8 months ago for 4,500 and I think I could have gotten it for around 4,000 if I was not so damned impatient. It's a '97 SE7 dual sunroofs, rear jump seats and air. Everything worked windows, doors sunroofs, locks. Most of the brakes had been redone, new battery, and a few other things. It runs and drives perfect and had 118,000 miles on it.

So a '94 with 180,000 miles and a bum transmition I would maybe pay 2,000-2,500. But you can always try and sell it on locally or on ebay there are tons of people out there that don't have a clue and might consider it a bargain. But on a Rover Board I don't think you'll get even close to that.

it is my truck, i am considering selling it, i didnt want to annouce it lol, but I got the truck 2 yrs ago for $4000 - had no clue about land rovers, and soon after that i replaced all the brakes, bearings, radiator, timing chain broke and engine was rebuilt, 2in ome, and a bunch of other stuff i cant remember.... I probably put another 4000 into it, thats why i asked if i could get 4000 for it again : / but seeing that i have put money into i really want to keep it, plus i know so much more about the truck, i would hate to get rid of it but..... i am going off to basic training this monday and it would be nice to be stationed at patricks AFB or Macdill AFB, which is close to where i live now but more then likely i will be stationed farther up north or even out of state, so idk, some people telling me to get rid of it and some people telling me to keep it....

"Better the devil you know" Meaning, keep the Rover. Try to store it at a relative or friends place while doing your Basic Training. If you sell it now after puting so much into it you may regret it later and want to buy another one, and then you may need to fix it up again. After all its not like you are going to need the money for much when you go.......Uncle Sam is going to give you all you need while in Basic Training. Beside's it will make a nice change from driving all those Hummers! Good Luck in basic, I will offer one little gem of advise, put your name, rank, ser # on EVERYTHING ! from your tooth brush to hand grenades. If you don't, it will go missing, and then (in the words of one of my fav war films) "your go'in be be in a world of shit" Good Luck !
