^i guess those are all correct, here my preferred method.

disassembly order has never been a problem, sometimes, i'll remove the filter first, sometimes the drain plug, more important is the assembly order, well, not even. All that matters is that the oil filter and drain plug are refitted before you pour the new oil into the engine.

had an uncle renew the oil without having fitted the drain plug back in place....lol.
