I recently was tampering with my stereo attempting to wire in an ipod hook up when one wire crossed another and a small smark occurred. After this happened, the radio would not turn on, nor would any of the climate controls. Thinking it was blown fuses, I checked them, all of them, and everything is just fine. It is not the fuses. Does anyone have any idea what I could have done that would make just these two things stop working? I really don't want to take this in to the shop if it is not highly complicated...
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!!!!! ![]() wb disco 96 |

I did not check every fuse but I will. One stupid question for you. When you look at the fuse, can you always tell if it is blown when you remove it or is it possible for the fuse to be blown and look just fine?

the conductor will be broken for a dead fuse. The conductor, housed in the plastic, usually looks like a metal "S" or "Z" & sometimes a "U" in the fuse. Other than the fuse box.. be sure the check fusable links in wiring as well.

Okay. I finally had a chance to check every fuse in the vehicle and every one of them are fine. I do think it is strange that not only does the stereo not turn on, but neither does any of the climate controls, or anything in that general area. Now what? Anyone have any ideas?
