I have a 97 disco and I get engine static through the radio. It varys from mild, you can drown it out by turning the volume up to real loud so you turn it off!!!
seems to be a bad electrical connection or connections. any idea where to start? ![]() Last edited by mac55 : 07-24-2008 at 09:05 AM. |

Does it get worse when you put the rear demist on? If so the problem is in the fact that the cable to your ariel (which is in the rear right hand window) is run inside the electrical harness to the rear electrical systems. You can trace it and remove it from inside this harnes and just tie it to the outside and generally you will find that the static goes away. If this doesn't work try earthing the case of your stereo. While you are looking at the rear window (the ariel looks like a rear window demist bar but just one line) just make sure that the ariel isn't damaged.
