The rear window switches on my Disco 1 do not work. They do operate using the switches on the master controls in the front though. I thought the switches in the back were bad. Both the passenger and driver's side switches aren't working. I checked the fuse and it is fine.
I purchased two new switches for the rear and the windows still doesn't go down. This is the point where I get confused and slightly frustrated. Is there anything that I forgot to check? Thanks. chrisusvi |

It may be your window lift ECU. Frequently, problems with the rear window operation are related to bad soldering joints on the circuit board in the ecu. If you are up for it, you can find the window lift ecu behind the glove box in the passenger footwell. If you want more details let me know what year your DI is and I can provide a bit more detail.

Hello Gentlemen.
Thought I would piggy back this thread. I have EXACTLY the same problem. The Windows work from the Console, but not the doors. Have installed New rear window switches, Cleaned Plug inside door panel and my Window ECU Board seems well soldered. (I followed the Discoweb instructions) Any suggestions on what I can do next ? Now, pardon my ignorance, but I am also assuming that The Console and Rear Door Window Switches would run off the same relay. Am I right in this assumption ? If not, where would I find the Rear Window Switch Relay ? Cheers. Jay -------- 92 RRC "Garden Ornament" (Sold) 95 RRC LWB "25th Anniversary" |

Maybe the problem is the kid lock switch in the center console? center switchs work all the time with the "kid lock" engauged or unengauged but the door switch only works when the switch is unengauged.
You talked about replacing the door switch, maybe the "kid lock" switch is next to look at.
