my rear windows did't work so i was looking around for a new window ecu and found this.
if you click on the 'instructions' tab it tells you exactly what to do with it. i just used a length of wire with a couple connectors and bingo, rear windows work!
wow. this would be great. I would love to have my rear windows back. anyone else have any experience with this?
i understand youre probably a bit weary considering how much of a LR greenhorn i am. but trust me, i did it last night in about 20 minutes....about 18 inches of wire, a wire cutter/stripper, and a couple wire couplers is all you need.
my back windows only work after you hold the button down while you start it... Weird.
don't ask me how I found this out. But i'm gonna try this tonight and seem it doesn't fix the weirdness, thanks deeb
deeb, stoped by a hardware store on my way home from work, and am going to try this in the morning. I was confused on one point. when I connect to the pink and white wire, am I connecting to the side with the plug, or the wire leading away from the plug. thanks
If this works it will be the best 2 dollers I ever spent
I have good news and bad news. the good news is that the directions are easy to follow. Everything went together very well. the bad news is that my rear window still don't work. All this time I thought it was (and still may be) my ECU. Does anyone know what the green and white wire that I taped into is for. In my D1's life before me there were some bypasses put in by some one else. any ideas would be great

just to clarify your last question, you use the wires that aren't attached to the plugs...
sorry to ask a stupid/offensive question, but were you sure to make good connections at each end of your wire and...did you plug your plugs back in?
just checked the disco manual for you...no chart of wires, couldnt find what that green/white ones for.
they work! I hate it when it is my fault, but it happens every once in a while. I was tracking an electrical short a few weeks ago, and pulled a couple of fuses trying to find my problem. It has been an ongoing problem with the windows and a short. When it would short out all of my dash lights and my right driving lights would go out. I have been frustrated by this for almost a month, but as of tonight, my rear windows work and the short has been found in the bulb in my rear bumper light. For once my wife is happy that I have been out working on the truck.
