Thumbs down Rough Start, Stalling, Error Codes

'98 Disco -120K. Check Engine light came on a week ago. Ignored until stranded at the car wash yesterday for 45min until it started. Drove home and had to shift into N to rev and keep running when not accelerating. Cursed the beast and parked. Reconciled this morning and started right up and drove just fine to AutoZone. Read codes P1179, P1177, P0300, and P1316. Any input would be appreciated. I'm thinking fuel filter, fuel pump, and/or o2 sensors?

So how long has it been since you did a tune up with wirea, a decarbon, and engine flush.
The 0300 and the 1316 are multiple mis fires, the other 2 codes lean towards a vaccum leak, hose or intake manifold.
What octane gas do you use>

I did wires(Bosch) and plugs(Bosch super plus 7907) 3K ago. Never Decarbon - a little help here would be great. No engine flush either. I will run through the Vacuum hoses. currently using 87 octane. Thank you for your quick response.

LR's need premium gas.. 91+ octane.. try that see if it gets any better. Also perhaps try something different then Bosch plugs... Go with some Champions..

The 87 octane has always been known as a slow death to a healthy Rover.
You are going to need to clean up that engine after you verify there are no vaccum leaks.
If you want to talk, send me you tele number and I will walk you thru what you are needing to do.

hey guys, please let us know what you find out, and what cures the ills with this Rover. Having some similar issues, usually only runs roughly on rainy days, and then only until it gets warm and then everything smooths out. would be interested to know what cures your Rover. Standing by to hear...

Engine flush? How is a engine flush going to help with misfire codes?

I am waiting on some parts. Top PCV hose is weak and caving in. The other PCV hose with the oil seperator is leaking air. Ordered new from Atlantic British. Should have shortly. Will update my progress.
