1: it is sometimes difficult to compress the lower bushings in the back. Place a thin washer over the bushsing and tighten the nut down, remove thin washer, replace with correct, tighten. Use a die-grinder mounted wire brush to clean the cups where the bushings sit.
2: the upper rear nut can be a bear, use a breaker bar to loosen. 3: front shock tower retaining ring studs often break. Either have replacements or use lots of PB blaster. 4: front again, jack vehicle up to unload front spring so you can fit your pipe wrench between the coils to grip the shock to unscrew the lower nut-or, use the blue-tip speed wrench . Keep the hose handy as these are often quite greasy and burning your truck in the driveway is sure to attract attention. |
