Default SRS Light On.

I just got my Rover back on the road after nearly a year. Long story! Anyhow I picked it up at my local LR dealer today and the Anti-Lock light and SRS lights are on. LAndrover of Harrisburg said it is too old (94') for them to do anything about. SO what do I just drive it around from now until the end of time with these lights on. As I said it was down for a year so the battery was unhooked. Can anyone help me with info on how to turn the lights off. They were not on when it stopped running and the repairs had nothing to do with brakes or SRS. PLEASE HELP!

These 2 lights are unrelated. the SRS light is Supplemental Restraint System, which is your airbags. It is quite common for this system to need some service, or parts replacement in this old a vehicle.

The Anti-Lock brake light can be due to several things, but I'll bet it is the wheel sensors. You can do a search and find out the correct test procedures, but sometimes just unplugging and replugging all the wheel sensors, reseating the in-line plugs will make this work again. Each wheel has a speed sensor, and these have integral wires leading to plugs. The front sensors have plugs that are located inside the engine compartment above each wheel near the shock towers. The rear plugs are located above the differential on the underside of the body. The anti-lock light should go off when you drive forward and your speed gets above 5 mph, and should stay off until you park and kill engine.

Chances are the faults relate to low battery voltage at key on,esp as the car has been dormant for so long. All you need is an independant with suitable diagnostic kit,(Testbook or Autologic)to clear the faults and see if any come back.I dont understand why a LR dealer would say its too old to repair - unless its a new dealer as the kit was expensive and even the oldest Testbook will work on cars made up to 2006 - why would they scrap it/throw it away ?
Workshops are more profitable than new car sales so any diagnostic kit will help to make money. My Testbook 1 still gets used now and again even tho T4 is quicker.
Good luck - I very much doubt your car has much wrong.
