Sunroof won't open with allen.....

I have read a lot about these common sunroof problems. But what I haven't read yet though is what does is mean when the allen Won't open the sunroof?!
When I push on the switch, either up or down, it makes a clicking sound like as if the turn signal is on- it has the same sound. My rear one just started making that same sound, but it still works for now.
Does this clicking sound in the switch automatically mean the switch is bad? I would hate to take everything out to clean the tracks and here it is just a simple bad switch problem- or even switch the back to the front because that one is starting to click too!
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Is it really the switch that's just clicking? If so, just pull it out and jumper the wires to see if the sunroof works, that will tell you if it's the switch.
There are 3 electrical failure points, the swtich, the ECU, and the motor. The ECU died on my front one in the open position, so I just snipped the wires between it and the motor and applied 12v and got it closed. I bought a manual sunroof to replace it with.

It is not the switch, it will be either a bad motr/gears or the roof assembly is shot. Need to keep them clean and lubricated if you plane on using them much.

I have the same problem on the rear sunroof. If it is not on the right track it wont catch the sunroof to open. Take off the four screws to get the sunroof off and check to see if there is dirt or like disco mike said lubricate the track before installing it again
