Default timing chain

Hey I was wondering when I need to replace my timing chain and how much it might be?

I have a 97 discovery sith 137,000 miles

No you dont, but I have heard of earlier models like the 94 3.9s breaking timing chain.

Although I wouldnt doubt there are some leaks in the engine and if you want go for replacing the head gaskets.

i would change it just to get it done with, i had the experience of it breaking...wasnt good....lets jsut say i had to do a little more work around the house for my dad......of course mine is a 1994 3.9, bought it with 160,000 miles on it..... so u might want to consider it,.....i read somewhere supposed to change it like every 70,000 miles

O yeah.. the mechanic said it wasnt really the chains fault..it was the cam gears freakin fault... it was worn down to where it had no teeth on it...!!

You are pushing it on mileage, it may not break for awhile but I bet your timing is already starting to show some irregular patters from a sloppy chain.
