Default tire fitment question

i'm wondering the biggest size tire i could purchase with stock alloys for a 94 discovery 1. stock size is 235/70/16, but i'm sure something bigger fits. i've read here of people pruning the front bumper, etc...
any advice, help would be appreciated.

waz, i run P255/70R/16 Toyo Open Country A/T's on my bone stock 94 Disco I, and they are fine. they will rub on really sharp turns, but they look and ride great on the highway (most of my miles are highway). it's my DD.

245/75-16 or about 31inch, with some slight trimming of the very rear lower corner of the rear wheel arches(by the mudflaps). For a DD you won't need to trim most likely, but if offroaded you will need to trim. That size tire looks good with no lift too.

235 85 16's with a slight trim to the front bumper.... That is roughly a 32X9.50

Won't fit on a D1 that isn't lifted unfortunately. Perfect for a two inch lift though.

the 235 will fit without a lift, it just wont look right. I think either the 245 or 235 both look too big without a small lift, but that is my opinion.

Hell you can fit a 33 in there too, but for a real world everday driver the 245/75 is as big as you should go.....IMO.

I shouldn't have said it won't fit.

Wrong choice of wording.
