i have a 97 D1

ive got 3inch RTE HDs and 33 TSLs.....with that kind of lift i had to removed the front sway bars and i of course removed the rears too. i also have OME shocks.....with all that in consideration....

i can drive 55mph comfortable. getting up to 70 and staying there on TN hilly roads it difficult. with the HDs i don't have any problems with sway on the Highway......maybe at high speeds (+75) when im changing lanes i dip a little.

really not bad.....you just can't drive it like a race car

Depends on the tyres, big knobbly tyres will seriously affect drag and thus top speed. Plus the stability of the lift will affect handling at speed big time.

If the driveline is sorted then you should not get vibrations from it at any speed the vehicle can attain. If you are then you really ought to sort it out.

My 200Tdi Discovery with 33's will cruise at over 70mph on the speedo if I want, but the speedo is calibrated for the stock 28" wheels, so I guess it must be near 90mph. This is on a good day mind, the diesel isn't as powerful as the V8. The biggest limiting factor is the tyres don't balance up that well so above 55-60mph they are not great, plus as they are proper off road tyres they will be no good for an emergency stop. If it's wet out I stick to 50-55mph top wack.

This is a manual 5 speed and no anti-roll bars - mine didn't have them STOCK.

If it's just top speed, well I've had a stock 3.9 EFI auto Range Rover upto an indicated 125mph while racing a Subaru WRX and a Golf GTi.

I keep my speeds in the 55-60 mph range. When i do need to go faster(like late for work) Then I go no faster than 75 Tops. Because after that the Truck feels weird at that point

This is with a D1
2.5 OME lift/ 265/75/16's AT's
and rear sway bar gone.

i have rte 3" hd springs with 285/75/16 tires and i can cruise at 70 without too much problems. only with the help of a hill, i can get to 95 but at that speed i start to get scared and slow down.

is there a reason your rear sway is off and not the front? ive been considering removing one, or both of mine, but dont want to make the vehicle unstable. if i remove just one, which one should it be?

Rear..... Make some disconnect for the front if you are going to keep one!

i had to remove mine with the 3inch RTE lift....i actually got over 4 inches of lift and the sways and front driveshaft didn't agree. you could make drop mounts for the sways but then it just hangs too low and will snag something.....the D2 guys have it made when it comes to front sways

for the record im not telling you what to do just what i did.....haha don't want to get anyone hurt

oh the rear ones....they're junk...toss them

If i recall RRC prior to '90 didnt even have sway bars as an option. I know my Hunter didn't come with any and it handles just fine at speed, but I also know its not a sports car!

remember whats important here...As long as you can go 88 mph to create 1.21 gigawatts of electricity, the rover will still travel through time.
