I have a '96 Discovery, Series 1 with 73,000 miles. Recently, I've been having some trouble with what sounds like the transmission.
Here are the symptoms: 1. Irregular reving mostly in lower gears. 2. Completely slipping out of gear while driving. I give it gas and the engine just revs and I dont move. 3. When I put it in reverse, I hear a sort of grinding/reving and it wont move (Bad huh?) 4. Metal shavings in my trans fluid (Worse huh?) Anyone with a similar experience or offer any advice? Also, does anyone know of a good/reliable mechanic in Los Angeles (aside from the dealer). I appreciate any help. -Marco Last edited by Strike6000 : 01-10-2006 at 05:27 PM. |
