transmission removal and replacement
Heres the deal. I am thinking about helping a friend replace the transmission in his 1996 land rover discovery. Does anyone know of an online shop manual for this vehicle? Or would the procedure be the same on a range rover classic? I have the shop manual for the range rover classic. If its the same i can use it. all help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

The bellhousings are the same, there are four bolts that hold the torque convertor to the flex plate just like on the RRC, the frame mounts aren't very different, and the linkages are pretty straight forward (DI LT230 T/C vs. RRC BW). There may be an extra wire or two to disconnect but off the top of my head I can't imagine anything that would surprise you.

has anyone else done this procedure im sure someone has. also does anyone have a link to a free online shop manual. any direction would be helpful. thanks again derangedrover |
