unknown cable - Land Rovers Only

hello all! i just got a set of magnecor 8mm and had no problem installing the eight wires from the distributor to the spark plugs and the one from the coil to the distributor. when i looked in the box, there was one more cable. where does it go? see the attached image.

You mean you only have 8 cylinders? Discos usually have 9 cylinders...

Probably a packaging mishap. Set it aside in case one of your wires goes bad.

That one should go from the dist to the coil, but if you already did that then its extra!

Spare a thought for the poor bastard who only gets 7 leads in his order (assuming he ordered 8).
