Default Variable Or Constant Spring Rates

There is a lot of great info on different spring options on here, but I have not been able to find much about variable or constant spring rates. I have herd of some people putting constants in the front and variables in the rear. what is the advantage to this. I am looking to order either RTE or OME springs this week and this spring rate is the only thing holding me up. any opinions are welcome. It is on a D1. I wheel once or twice a month when I'm lucky. thanks

constant up front because the weight never changes varible in back because of load changes, with a heavy duty constant rate spring in back with no cargo you'd get beat to death. varible, less weight more squish at the top of the spring. more weight more comperssion stiffer spring. if you go to expeditionexchange.com they have a spring rate comparison chart for their ome springs
