Talking vast improvement for only 220 bucks!

so i added a k&n filter with a custom made cold air intake, also cut out the front muffler and replaced it with a cherry bomb turbo and eliminated the rear muffler and WOW what an improvement.I wasnt expecting very much, mostly i was hoping to pick up a couple more mpg , havent had enough time to measure that yet,but damn i cant believe how much more power i have, also the exhaust sounds great , not too loud but much more serious i am very satisfied so i thought i would share it with everybody,oh yeah the best part only cost me about 220 bucks

well i just filled up so i should know mpg in a few days, then ill post it along with pics and what not,but serously i am shocked at how much more power i have gained, honestly it doesnt make sense to me that land rover would restrict that much power from the factory,oh yeah and you guys might like this,i just got back from running to the store and joy riding for the hell of it,so some asshole in a z71 shortbed must have heard the exhaust or something because he follows me out of the shell and keeps flooring it past me like a jack ass,and of coarse we catch the same stop light a couple blocks down,he goes out of his way to put his truck in neutral and revs it up a few times and keeps looking at me,so i said fuck it why not i put mine in 1st ,i didnt rev or anything, light hits green we both floor it and to my surprise i pulled him by almost a length and a half,it was a short run i got up to 65 and let off he flew by me flipped me off and took the exit, haha how funny is that,he did have bigger tires though so who knows but it was kinda fun anyway even though i felt like a jackass

There are technicians that post on this and other forums that will say that a K&N air filter will destroy your MAP sensor.

That is silliness. I have seen them used on hundreds of LRs without a problem. The complaints come when someone used them to cure another problem or SOAKS them in oil//especially non-K&N oil.

Jerry Mall, the owner of K&N is a very sweet and concientious guy. He vacations with his young family near LeMans often and is very approachable. These rumors bother and frustrate him and rightfully so. K&N deals with each and every rumor or issue thoroughly when/if asked and detailed reports on every claim from every individual are available on line.

Effectively they warrant your AFM to silence the rumor mongers. K&N Response to Mass Air Flow Sensor Concerns
