what engines were in disco 1 99'model

looking at buying another parts vehicle
and from the pic, it looks like it is a 4 cyl. gas
does this exist?

Any US Spec '99 Disco (I or II) would be a 4.0 V8. Rest of the world had them, and also the 300Tdi, which is a 2 1/2 liter 4 cyl turbodiesel.

its at a used car place, so I cant call them till monday, but has spark plug wires, and is a 4 cyl., but after looking at the pic, engine compartment is red, and the vehicle is white

Sounds like they got their pictures messed up when posting them. a 99 would be a ZF automatic, and the Land Rover 2.25 or 2.5 wouldn't bolt up to it. Maybe someone went through the excercise of putting something else in, but the obvious question would be 'why?' There was no factory built 4cyl petrol Disco.
