Default What years were 5-speeds available in discos?

OK, I've decided to get a Disco this spring after I pay off a couple of debts as a secondary fun toy for exploring the Oregon outback (where ever that is). I've decided to get a 5-speed. I prefer manuals and supose they get better milage. I've seen two lately for $3000('94) to $3700 (96). I'm just wondering what years the put the 5-speeds in. I was actually surprised to see one as late as 1996. Do they have CDLs? Are manual transmissions put into more striped down Discos? I think it would make a good companion for my TR6.

I have a 97 5 speed, and as far as i know its the last year it was brought to the US, i could be wrong though.

I have heard of 5 speed LSE's but never seen one. Mine is an SD, with manual cloth seats, no sun roofs. I prefer it that way, that much less to break or leak!

Be careful when you buy a 5 speed, they have been know to have problems. They were built and sold from 93 thru the 97. Also, the 5 speed doesn't really get any better mileage to speak of. Yes, all D1's have CDL t/cases.

They were built for all years of the D1 and D2. I don't know about the D3.

What I believe you meant to say is that they were not sold in the US.

5 Speed D1's here in the US were available from the trucks introduction to the NA market in 1994, up until 1997. After that they were all auto.
