That's cool. I got my '03 from a used lot in Chattanooga for 6500. It was originally 7900 but they marked the price down. It had 104000 miles. And yeah, it will look a little unbalanced with the lift and stock size tires. It looks really balanced with some 32's. You can possibly clear 33's without trimming, just depends on the front bumper really. I have 32's on mine and the acceleration hasn't suffered much, but once you move up to 33's you have to start worrying about re-gearing. These wimpy Rover V8s can't really handle the 33's all that well. Not to mention my gas mileage dropped from around 15 to about 11. =(

Well, I'm only 22, so I know what you mean by young and impatient. It's a generational thing, instant gratification. I've read plenty of threads about the swap, so I think i'll be fine. I've got a mechanic friend who helps me with all of my stuff anyways. I'm learning quite a few things from him so that someday I might be able to do it without supervision. So, where did you get your Disco, and how much did you pay for it, how many miles, etc?

Well, I've got OME coils and Terrafirma Shocks. Once I get some rear spacers to even it out completely I'll definitely send you a pic. One thing to keep in mind for the Disco sliders is that I heard that the guys at Outback Offroad had some trouble making the sliders for a while because they have a slight curve in them. I dread the plugs and wires, too, cause I've read so many posts saying they are a total beast. But I guess I'll see. How did your install go?

As of now, I have a 3" Terrafirma lift and 265/75 16 Mud Terrains. My girlfriend's Disco is dying so I'm going to get all the stuff off of it, which includes: front and rear Safari Gard bumpers, Warn winch, 4.11 front and rear gears, CDL, Hella lights, skid plates, and roof rack. I lucked out, but unfortunately her Disco (which has been out to Moab) is pretty sick at the moment and will probably take a few hundred dollars to make her better. I'm also thinking of changing plugs and wires, changing wiper arms, and a couple other little maintenance things. I see that you make your own stuff. What kinds of armor do you make?

Well I haven't been as much as I would like. I've been about half a dozen times in the last year since I've owned it. I'm working on decking mine out at the minute. Would you be willing to take the disco out sometime?

Yeah. This is my last semester. So hopefully I'll be graduating in May. Do you do much off roading?

Yep. That's where we go usually. It is pretty awesome. My email address is, what's yours? Maybe sometime in the near future we can go for a trail ride. I would like to get to know some other Rover owners who know what their vehicle is capable of.
