This was the first engine I had ever torn down- it is pretty easy as long as you label things as they come off. Toughest was the exhaust studs.
First give the entire engine compartment and engine a good washing with simply green. It will make working on it so much simpler.
I have a 1994 Range Rover 4.2 LWB that I need to redo the head gaskets on. When you changed the head gaskets on your Rover, was there a thread? Did you have any suggestions before I tear into this thing?
