Does anyone have a diagram of which order the spark plug wires attach behind the plenum? I was going to replace them with the Magnacore's this weekend, but I would like to have a diagram for double-checking if possible.

Thanks!

i tried to make a diagram for you. when i changed my plugs i had to call about 100 different land rover places to finally get someone who could tell me this info. Also, when you do the job, i recommend doing only one at a time to make sure you don't run a wire to the wrong cylinder. it is a pretty tricky job considering LR put the coil pack behind the engine, but it is possible. behind the engine on the coil pack you will find two "squares" (for lack of a better word) of 4 electrodes and this is the diagram i drew. the firewall is the bottom of the coil pack. i hope this somewhat helps!! oh and there is a diagram of the engine cylinder numbers in the owners manual if you need it!

//Front of Truck//

1 6 5 8

7 4 3 2

______engine firewall____________

this isn't the best drawing, if you need more help you could call me, but pm me for my number...i don't want it all on the internet hahaha

I can understand the diagram, and thank you for that. Was it easier for you to start in the middle at the bottom, like around Plug Wire 4 or 3 and work up, or does it not really matter? Seems like there isn't much room back there & I think I have pretty small hands :confused

You are going to like the Magnacors, what plugs are you going to use? If you haven't decided, go with the Bosh Platium Plus 4's, you will get a real boost in low end torque.

i would go from left to right alternating between the top and bottom wire. some of them i found i had to disconnect two wires to reach one...in this case be VERY carefull and remember what goes where. when i got mine finished i cranked up my rover and the engine was still misfireing and come to find out i had crossed two wires...and that really sucked trying to figure out which ones were crossed!!!! good luck and be carefull!! you should be fine...maybe LR should move the coil pack to the front of the engine, but i guess that would keep people from taking it to the dealer. the dealer was going to charge me over $800 to change my plugs and wires. i understand that our vehicles are expensive, but that is rediculous!!!!

well the dealer is doing my 60,000 mile service for free on the truck since I just purchased it and it was pretty close to 60K when I bought it. I am going to maybe take the wires with me and see if they will do them for free as well, then I won't have to worry about crossing a wire up. I'll let you know how that works out! Thanks for all the help...

The dealers usually charge about 2 1/2 hours labor because they like to remove the top half of the intake manifold to get better access to the coil
packs, I doubt they will do this for free, but they will install you plugs for you.

Just bought my Disco and the Dealer has a cheap set of wires on it, and no V8 likes cheap wires. Anyway, where do you get the Magnacores and what is the price?
I believe there is someone on here that runs a special deal on them, or you can order them from Magnacore's website. There is a link for Land Rover there with the site that you can get them from. They are around $70 or so.

I got my set of Magnecor wires from John C (JohnC at 4x4ag.com), he's also a sponsor of LRO (you'll see his banner at the top of the page randomly).

Make sure you order the blue 8mm, wires not the 7mm's.
