Question on replacing Rear crossmember on a D90

Quick question, is it better to have the rear tub on or off when replacing a rear cross member. I'm taking the tub off anyways, but didn't know if by leaving it on would limit fit issues for the welder. I have to drop the tank as well as drop the rear end so I'm planning on pulling off the tub and redoing the brake and gas lines.

Thanks

Cut the old crossmember off and fit the replacement up to the tub. Put a few bolts through the five tabs and tack weld the crossmember. Then, if you want to, go ahead and pull the tub, and finish up your welding.
I can't say about the crossmember RN supplies for the D90, but the one they sell for the 110 is NOT intended to go onto an NAS truck without a lot of cutting and trimming.
I've done 2 series crossmembers and one on the 110 in the past years, and I'll do a series anyday before I do another NAS110.
