I'm actually in the process of installing a similar system right now in my 2009 LR2 (USA version of the Freelander 2) . It may in fact be the same system but I purchased it, unused, from someone and not directly from the company. So far, I have only installed the screen (I had to open up the dash to replace the radio anyway). It didn't come with any installation instructions and the ones posted/downloadable at carnaviplayer.com are practically useless. I even contacted the company to see if they had a better set of instructions. They do not and felt that what was posted was sufficient. Well, after doing a lot of research and reviewing all of the cables and connections I think I now understand how to connect everything. The system I have has the optional DVD player so I'm also waiting on the mounting bracket from a Land Rover parts distributor so I can mount it correctly under the passenger seat similar to the OEM system. With Fathers day tomorrow and helping someone move next weekend, I may not have time to finish the installation for a couple of weeks but I'm confident that I can hook it up.
I will also tackle installing a backup camera at a later date since this system is designed for that as well.
Please let us know if you purchase the system from Carnaviplayer.com and if you receive any instructions better than what is posted.
**UPDATE** I've finished installing the Basic Nav System and it's not too bad. It uses maps stored on a micro SD card rather than a DVD like the OEM version. I haven't really had a chance to test it yet, other than pulling up an address on the map. It will only power up if the fob is inserted and then pressing the power button on the NAV unit. It launches with a big LAND ROVER logo so it looks OEM. You can either power it down or it will shut down when you remove the fob. I have yet to install the optional DVD player - still waiting for the mounting bracket, or the backup camera. It also has bluetooth for phones and music so I need to play with that as well.
