Trailer Towing

Hey, looking to buy a new Discovery with the 3L supercharged engine. I want to tow a 30’ travel trailer which has an unloaded weight of 5900lbs. With additional weight of passengers and cargo in the trailer I know I’m going to be around 7900lbs which is close to the 8200 lbs capacity. Am I expecting too much from the disco?

I think you will be asking too much of it. Also a short wheelbase for a trailer of that size and weight.
Especially if like you user name (Vancouver), you can’t go far without hitting the mountains.
Not a suitable tow vehicle for your application I.M.O.

+1 ^^^, IMO you need a Chevy Suburban with 6L engine for that heavy trailer as to not be towed back from a hill by it
