It is a well known fact that IE is a open door to issues on the internet. I have actually found the best protection is using linux.

Linux is only secure because it is cryptic and every other install is completely different.

Mac is only secure because no one cares about it.

Windows is only vulnerable because there are billions(?) of installs of it, all nearly identical, and probably millions of people trying to figure out how to break it every day.
