Ex Norwegine Mil FFR 109' with a broken back...

Hello guys

First off I wanna let everyone know I have read for 2 days on this forum and others before i posted this. I am a American living in Norway and this summer I finally got buy a Series 3 as most of you know in the us they are a little scarce and I never really had the money to pick one up. The truck is a 1974 2.25 petrol FFR with as the title says a 'Broken Back' i.e the frame is to the point of no return and the front axle is Fubared. I have recently been offered a 110 for next to nothing that decided it wanted to roll over and beg now the motor and tranny is out most of the body panels are trash and its sitting waiting on the crushers. So the part that is interesting the frame along with the axles and some very nice upgrades (shocks springs and E-lockers) are all in useable condition.

Question 1
What will have to be done to the frame and body to make the fit.

Question 2

And this one will get me hell

what will it take to make the 2.25 andtranny go in ? (disco 200tdi is in the cards next year)

question 3

what upgrades to the SIII breaking system will be needed to use the 110 breaks?

Please be nice to me I don't have a lot of money so I dont wanna hear about
Id go with a new galvanized frame a 300tdi and unimog axles.....

I just want my old looking beat up SIII to have a new pair of legs.

I have my own shop with welding equipment a lift and just about any hand tool you've ever seen. (I maintain company forklifts crains and rigging equip for a living).

Regards

Frank

You should be able to swap the 109 bits straight over to the 110 frame with little trouble.

Hey thats for the reply and i dig your quote I spent 6 years in USAF.

I looks that way to me also from parking my truck beside it and doing some 'thumb to pointerfinger' mesurments but im sure you guys would know of any major snags if there is any.

Also if i use the 110s speedo will my speed be closer to right with the new axle gearing?

Regards
