Damn Gremlin(s)

I have an 05 Lr3 that I purchased a little less than a year ago.

When I bought it I knew that the front bearings needed to be replaced. I went to perform the task the other week and while backing out of the drive I hear a mechanical scrubbing sound and the amber HDC and brake lights appear on the console. The vehicle would not shift out of 2nd gear as well.

Figured it may have something to do with the bearings, pulled them off and replaced both sides, problem still occurs.

I noticed the lights will not illuminate until I turn the wheel sharp left, even with the engine off and car in park.

I replaced the brake switch, driver side wheel speed sensor, inspected brake lights, fixed corroded brake switch splice, new battery.

Any advice on what to check next?

****EDIT****
I believe I have narrowed it down to the steering column sensor.

Looks like there was a leak at some point as the steering column has some surface rust.

Thanks in advance.

Purchased a new steering angle sensor, as well as a Foxwell NT520.

Tried programming the new sensor, no luck. Started troubleshooting possible issues with the CAN bus.

Went through passenger and driver side fixing all splices, still no luck.

pulled codes, codes relate to the steering angle sensor, inaccurate data, or no communication.

I am going to continue looking for the issue, hopefully by documenting the process it will help others.

Please, feel free to jump in and offer advice on what might be causing this issue.

have you recalibrated the SAS?

also, i can't recall if it's on the foxwell or the nanocom that i have, but i recall there being an option to clear all SAS calibrations and repeat.

this may need to be done if your geometry has changed at all in the steering/suspension.

i have just gone through the ringer with my '06RRS and the MScanbus, and i believe i've narrowed down my culprit to a bad IP cluster. the MScanbus runs from the IPC to the OBD port, but i can't recall if the SAS is on MS or HS CanBus.
