p76rangie NEVER use an engine flush in a dirty motor. Has a very high chance of stuffing the motor.

No sense in pouring good or expensive oil into the recycle jug at wherever your drop your oil off. On the last oil change, if you prefer synthetic, use it then.
Hahha, I would but I might have to pay for a engine overhaul.... $$$$$$$$$$

atancreti I should still use synthetic right?

JammerSocal The cheapest as possible kind Because your only going to have it in for the 50 miles or so.

atancreti Thanks for the advice. I normally use fully senthetic mobil one... what do you recommend I use as for cheap oil?

JammerSocal Opps sorry forgot that, yes you will have to change that as well.

You will need 2 filter changes.

Reason: is that ATF "could" damage a Oil Filter that's why i say "two" just to be safe side that all the ATF fluid is out of the system.

atancreti What about my oil filter??
06-10-2011 11:45 AM
JammerSocal Yes I have done this, The old guys (My Dad used to do this) to clean out internals.
1. I would say 10 miles though at least
2. Then flush with fresh cheep Oil for 50 or so miles
3. Then drain then put in the normal oil.

do step 2 to 3 if lifter does release.

lifters

I talked to a guy about my lifters and he said that i should put a bottle of atf transmission oil in with the engine oil. Aka the stuff my rover manual says to use as power steering fluid.. then drive it on the interstate for ten minutes and maybe that will let it loose. Has anyone heard of this before?
Thanks
