JUKE179r Try using a step drill bit in the new bumper to make a hole sized to the sensors.

Can you mount backup sensors in a D2 bumper not originally equipped with them?

My daughter backed her car into my son's '04 D2 HSE, damaging the bumper.

She is buying him a new bumper junkyard bumper and will help him install it.

My son's D2 has backup sensors.

The junkyard bumper she has found (also from an '04 D2? It has fat roof rails) does not have sensors.

I know the sensors have a little bevel around them but I don't know if that is molded into the bumper or into the sensor (the vehicle is with my son back in college).

Does anyone know whether the sensors can be mounted on a bumper that didn't originally come with them by simply drilling it out to accept the sensors?
