'01 LR Disco II ball joints...

I have an '01 LR Disco II with 115K miles. The vehicle has been driven gently during it's life, never off road. I was told today it will need ball joints within in the next six months. My question: Is it "normal" for them to be replaced at that mileage? Thanks for your help!

No, who told you this, which ones need replacing and how did they test/confirm they were failing?

stop taking your cars to NTB's and Meineke's for service. they are idiots!

It's rare that they need replacing.
