I know that this issue has been addressed before, however, there was no clear indication as to the correct procedure on how to change the main battery of the 04 RR without having an impact on the other electrical systems and the 2nd battery under the driver's seat.
Is there a correct protocol that would preclude these problems?

According to Land Rover Service Specialist there is a 2nd battery under the driver's seat that takes care of the electronics inside the vehicle. With that said, I was give a 2nd set of instructions yesterday that before disconnecting the main battery you can use a battery pack connected to the terminals to preclude total loss of power and having to enter new codes for radio etc. This will maintain all systems powered. It seems sensible to me and easy enough to do. Both my batteries are brand new. Tks for your input.

I am so sorry, but I am not familiar with "RTFM" and "IIRC" what doe s this mean? By the way I have not had the need to change the battery, I just needed to know how to do it correctly.
